(action the first;) ¬ [ Usopp sure did wake up on the ground by a New Feather Watch Station with a frog in his face. This normally might not merit more than a jump and a laugh at himself while he overcame the general confusion of waking up on the ground with a frog in his face, when he was just on the ocean, but then the frog said "are you lost?" Man of might that he is, the Great Captain Usopp, he could only accept this and the glimpse of something disturbingly yellow and feathery on his back with due dignity and tact.
That is, by screaming "MONSTER FROG" into its face and shooting into the watch station with speed that any coward could appreciate. For the time being, he's labeling the station "the hut I'm holed up in possibly for the rest of eternity, but it could be worse, and I will pay the owner back for this loose shirt and pair of socks later." A working title, true, but serviceable.
Sure, the shirt kind of irritates his wings, which makes him think about them, which makes him twist around to look at them properly only to panic a little more, which makes him scream "I'M DEAD" a couple of times… but it gives him breathing room to be in here at all, so that could be worse, too. Room to open that journal with his name on it, from arm's length, with a stick, with his face turned the other way. Once it fails to explode or threaten him, he jumps on the chance to investigate something that doesn't pose immediate danger (go figure). If someone happens to be by the station marked 'bb' on the map, they're welcome to intrude anywhere. ]
(voice;) ¬ [ One way or another, he gets to the Guide and sort of skims through it. Enough to pick up on a few important things. One: he is not dead, most likely. Two: he is not alone (!!!). Three: everybody has a wing problem. Four: he is going to be subjected to war and horrible scientific experiments…? Third Party, Malnosso, impermanent death, time freezing, kidnappings… he just wanted to follow Nami and start on getting her and the Merry back like he promised Luffy . Now there's all- all this.
Well. If you can't beat 'em or nope right back out of this new world… better lie about something after the fact. ]
S- so, Luceti! What a beautiful place! You know, the last island full of talking animals and scientists that I went to had all the trees chopped down for experimentation: it was really disappointing! All of the animals were homeless because of it. But they were also the scientists, so I guess they should have seen it coming! [ Loud Laughing is Super Convincing 101, with Professor Captain Usopp. The snapshot presents a man who is all snot and smudged dirt and shaking-because-his-knees-won't-stop-knocking. Like a true professional, he just keeps on talking and is totally, completely, one hundred percent absolutely not sounding freaked out by anything. Not him. No, sir. ]
It turned out great in the end, though! I taught them how to build mansions out of pillows and old boxes and they were so grateful that they made me their mayor! My crew sailed away into the sunset richer for the experience. Aaaah, I'm sure that things will turn out really well here, too! Y- you've got Captain Usopp on your side, y'know! [ oh god we are all going to die Luffy Zoro where are you please save me. He is obviously lying. ] Oh, and if you've... if you've seen a bloody green-haired guy or a really loud one with a straw hat, you should definitely let me know! They're lost without me.
(action, the revenge;) ¬ [ As the label suggests, Usopp will get around to town-wandering... eventually. Probably in a few hours, when he's less high-pitched and ready to fake a heart attack. The hope to find his bag or slingshot or regular clothes in one of these shops is greater than his hesitation over an unfamiliar village.
Actually, being in the village proper is a lot more soothing than being alone in the forest. It isn't exactly the same, of course, but the sort of feeling it seems to be going for, all quaint and clustered, reminds him of home. There are some scary looking people out and about, but the longer he goes without being struck down, the easier it is for him to decide to poke his head into just one more building to see what it's like.
Stops of particular note are: the items shop, where he will be making a cautious dig for a slingshot and other accessories, the clothes shop, where he refuses to rest until he's found his blue and white armband at the least, and pretty much any grocery store, because he will want food eventually and would like to be completely sure it won't make him sick (or he wouldn't want to make some chef feel bad by getting sick or being picky. the Baratie was enough for him, thank you very much). ]

It sounds like it was fun, though. I mean, a whole island full of cute animals and being able to just...sail off whenever you feel like it.

[She can't help but grin to herself just thinking about it but soon lets out a quiet little sigh.]
I kinda feel like I get enough excitement and adventure just being here, though.

[As far as she can tell, this guy is a New Feather and she doesn't want to scare him or anything. Then again...]
Oh! But...you said you were like, a captain or something, right? S-So I bet you'll be just fine!
no subject
I'll just have to be cautious, I guess. A- and you can always call on me for help if you need it sometime, too!
no subject
Totally. Caution is like, a total necessity in this place. And if I need help, I'll be sure to ask, but...I can like, totally handle stuff. I'm like, practically an adult over here, you know? So you can like, totally ask me for help, too.
[She actually isn't sure she can help with much of anything, but as an almost-adult, she figures she should at least try to put up the image that she can.]
Um, I'm Pilouette, by the way. Like, nice to meet you? ...Does this count as meeting? Maybe it does...? ...Yeah, it counts.
no subject
I'm Usopp. I guess I kind of introduced myself in the entry in the first place, though… it still counts! [ Eh, never hurt to do up the second effort. ] It's good to have allies to rely on in this place.
no subject
Besides, we all kind of have to stick together, considering the situation, you know?

[After what he said, she feels a little better admitting that.]
Even now I'm still trying to figure out my way around that dumb forest...It's bigger than I thought.
no subject
Isn't it, though? If this Luceti place is an island, it's a lot bigger than the one I just left. It could take forever to get to know your way around here!
no subject
W-Well, I don't think Luceti is an island. I mean, there's a beach, inside the enclosure, but who even knows how far the ocean goes from here? ...Th-That's as much as I know, anyway. I don't really leave the village all that much.
[Pilouette Protip #1: When you're not sure, make your answer noncommittal! That way if it turns out she's wrong she can say she never said she was sure.]
no subject
Oh, but it's kind of great that there's an ocean at all! I've never been totally landlocked before, since I'm a man of the sea and all. It could get really stifling without a body of water!
no subject
But to be honest, I've like, never even been on a boat before, so I've totally got no idea. Actually, I'd never even been to the beach before I ended up here.

[She's pretty sure she's heard something about crews and boats around here before but...she never paid much attention.]
What kind of expedition, though? I mean, usually on an expedition you would be like, looking for something or whatever, right? Plus, would it really be a good idea to take a bunch of people who have never sailed before...?
no subject
no subject
[She totally believes that best fisherman stuff and she thinks it's kinda cool.]
Plus, I bet a lot of people would like to learn to fish if they didn't know already. And if you're the best, it'll probably be like, no problem!

[Even if not being miserable is really hard sometimes. Still, his optimism is kind of infectious.]
If you end up setting this up, give everybody a heads up! A-And if you need a hand, I'll be, like, totally happy to help out!

I mean, I've been here a while, but...it's never too late to take a stand, right?! E...Even if it's just a little one...
